Dr. Gary Roubin is the CMO and co-founder of Essential Medical. Dr. Roubin assists the company with device development, clinical evaluation, and corporate strategy. He has a rich history and experience in interventional cardiology and entrepreneurial companies including Cook, MedNova, and The Medicines Company, Dr. Roubin is perhaps best known for implanting the first US stent and his pioneering work in carotid artery stenting. He is experienced with nearly every interventional product, routinely uses vascular closure devices, and brings a wealth of knowledge to company activities. Dr. Roubin is the author of 520 papers, abstracts, book chapters, and books related to interventional cardiology.

Dr. Lawrence Garcia is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and an interventional cardiologist with a specific focus in peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Garcia serves as the Principal Investigator of several ongoing coronary protocols, has directed/participated as an investigator on several studies relating to peripheral vascular disease and has co-authored over 30 articles and editorials. As former Director of Peripheral Interventions at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr. Garcia’s responsibilities included all aspects involved in developing a new program as well as training fellows, residents and medical students.

Dr. William O’Neill is the Medical Director for the Center for Structural Heart Disease at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Michigan. Dr. O’Neill has participated in numerous research studies and is currently participating in several large bore studies including the TVT Registry (monitoring outcomes of transcatheter valve replacement) and the Edwards Life Sciences PARTNER Trial of Percuatneous Aortic Valve Replacement. Dr. O’Neill has co-authored over 350 articles and 400 abstracts and is a nationally and internationally recognized presenter and lecturer at Scientific Sessions, symposia, and hospital conferences.
